Yes! I recognize the needs and I will support the capital campaign!

Trinity United Methodist Church Capital Campaign

In April 2018, the Board of Trustees and Church Council of Trinity United Methodist Church launched a three-year capital campaign for repairs and improvements to the church and the pastor's house next door. This Web site provides information about the needs. Over time, the Board of Trustees will report on progress made on the repairs and improvements. Use the "News" link on the top of the page for the latest information.

Campaign Theme

The campaign theme is "Building Up to Welcome All", reflecting both the congregation's intention to improve our facilities to serve the Gospel and our sincere commitment to welcome all people to learn of the love of God through Jesus Christ. Trinity is a missional church living faithfully in both the community and the world, and we anticipate a bright future serving as the Body of Christ. Our facilities are important to our success following God's project of salvation for all Creation.

History of the church buildings at the corner of Lake and Wilmette Avenues

The first church built on the current site, serving from 1890-1908.

The second church built on the current site, serving from 1908-1929.

July 25, 1929 - William N. Waidner, Fredrick A. Waidner, and Henrietta Thompson Panushka lock the second church's door for the final time prior to its demolition to make way for the current Sanctuary. Henrietta, aged 80, was a member of the original 1874 founding congregation.

Ground was broken for the current building on September 9, 1928. Here the cornerstone is laid for the Education Building (now the Parish House).
